Who teaches this course?
Elodie Foray (they/them) is an intimacy director and theatre practitioner, based in the South East. They have been directing intimacy since 2021, with over a dozen productions under their belt, and with several more lined up for the rest of the year. They also visit creative organisations and schools to talk about intimacy directing. Earlier in the year they were sponsored by the Little Theatre Guild to further their training with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators. They continue to further their training and develop their practice, in a way that means that every production is approached with the same level of consent-forward thinking, whilst using a whole range of different tools to make actors and crew feel comfortable, confident and creatively engaged. Their 15 years of experience as an actor and as a director has given them a unique insight into the world of theatre, and their goal is to bring intimacy directing to amateur and semi-professional theatre spaces. Boundaries, consent, and communication are just as important in these places as they are in professional theatres.
